Roath Community Chorus invite you to our annual SUMMER CONCERT.
This July, our choir presents a heartwarming concert, It Must Be Love, celebrating the many forms of love through song. From timeless classics to soulful melodies, our repertoire is sure to uplift and inspire.
We’re thrilled to perform at our new venue, complete with a licensed bar to enhance your evening. And who knows, you might even enjoy a surprise performance from special guest The Village Strummers Ukulele Club!
Don’t miss this affordable night out filled with beautiful harmonies, joyous energy, and a celebration of love in all its glory. Bring your friends, family, or someone special—it’s a concert you won’t want to miss!
We will also be collecting money at the event for charity, SIGHT LIFE, so don't forget to bring some spare change.

Sight Life, formerly known as Cardiff Institute for the Blind until October 2019, offers a wide range of local services to support blind and partially sighted people across much of South Wales. Their mission is to help people live independent, active, social, and fulfilling lives. Established in 1865, we are one of Wales' oldest charities.

Ben Pinnow - Musical Director
A South Wales based choral conductor, accompanist and musical educator, Ben, who is originally from Dorset, completed his Masters in choral conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama under tutors Neil Ferris, Sarah Tenant-Flowers and Simon Halsey. While there he received the Busenhart-Morgan-Evans Bursary awarded by the Worshipful Company of Singers.
He studied piano with Richard Ormrod at Cardiff University and holds the ABRSM Diploma in piano performance.
Currently, Ben works as musical director for Côr Bro Ogwr, City Voices Bristol, Roath Community Chorus and is co-director of Cardiff Chamber Choir.
He is artistic lead for the Forget-me-not Chorus as well as being a member of the musical team. He also works on educational and outreach projects with Welsh National Opera and National Dance Company of Wales and is an alumnus of the Live Music Now scheme.
Ben also sings regularly with BBC National Chorus of Wales and is an organisational partner of the FAKS Sings Festival in Croatia.
Judith Rose - Pianist
Judith Rose is a soprano, pianist, arranger, voice coach and singing teacher who lives in Cardiff. Originally from Walsall, Judith arrived in Cardiff many moons ago to study at the Welsh College of Music and Drama. At the college she studied voice with John Mitchinson, piano with Mary Rees and composition with Mervyn Burtch. Judith enjoys a wide range of music, from Monteverdi to that of contemporary composers. Many of her former pupils now work in professional musical theatre, and current pupils benefit from training in vocal technique and a developing musicality, enhancing confidence and presentation in performance. Her approach to teaching and coaching is firmly rooted in the belief that music is good for wellbeing, and voices can be trained using many different musical styles and genres. Judith has been pianist for Roath Community Chorus since the choir’s inception.

Yes, there is some floor level seating available at the front of the venue. Please arrive early if you have accessibility requirements. There are ramps to enable easy access into the venue.

You will be able to purchase refreshments at Cardiff Theatre Cafe at St. Andrew’s Church, who will be open for you to purchase refreshments from their licenced bar. This bar will be in the hall to the side as you enter the church.
Ideally yes, but we will mainly be working from a list people who have purchased tickets taken from Eventbrite. If you have booked more than 1 ticket, it will be most helpful if all of your party arrive together, and know the name who has booked the ticket for you via Eventbrite.

No, this year we selling tickets online via Eventbrite only. There will be some tickets available on the door on the night.
Yes, we intend to have a small number of tickets available for sale on the door, on the evening of the event. Please arrive early to purchase your ticket on the door and to avoid any potential disruption at the start of the concert.
Your tickets are digital, so they will be kept in your Eventbrite account, so you won't be able to lose them.
